It has been over 20 years since I recorded the Crimson Series with Singh Kaur and Kim Robertson. Wow, it’s hard to believe how successful this music has been and it’s still popular today. Thanks fans for your support and love letters!
I got to thinking with all the great mastering gear we have what could be done to improve the classic recordings. The thought of even touching the sound with anything made me nervous but I have embarked on this journey never the less. To my surprise the results are pretty astounding. The vintage tube gear we have as well as newer mastering tools have brought a whole new level of detail and richness to the music that I thought impossible given it already sounded pretty dang good.
Here are samples of the original versions and the re-mastered version from the Crimson Collection by Singh Kaur. On a technical note all songs are normalized to peak at 0vu. I would love to hear your thoughts on them!
